Back in my hustler days I would import clothes and shoes from China and sell the out the trunk of my car while living in Nashville. As I look back on the characters and great people I met in Nashville I’m amazed how far God has brought me. Regardless of how many countless cash transaction were made the main ingredient was where did I get my merchandise? I’m a risk taker so one day I took to the web on alibab.com and I made a contact with Jacky (his American name). I took a gamble and sent Jacky some money for merchandise and a few days later I received my merchandise. Over the course of a year and half Jacky provided me with the merchandise I need to afford myself a lifestyle of working for myself. Let me telll you it wasn’t always a perfect relationship dealing with size variations and a difference in culture. I attempted many times to educate him on American culture to create a better supply chain but I just gave up after while…..until I came up with the idea to go visit Jacky and meet him in person.

I soon found myself on a plane to visit Jacky in Guangzhou, China. I first landed in Hong Kong then took a train to Guangzhou. When I arrive much to my su rprise I saw lot of Africans. The Africans would buy merchandise from China and ship it to wherever their customers were located. It was a world of commerce I could have never imagined. I will save that experience for another blog. Jacky opened his home for me to stay with his wife, two kids and mother in law. He even gave me his bed to sleep and slept on the couch. It was an interesting experience and now I have Chinese family.
